  1. Kilcullen community has an opportunity to have it's own elected representative on the incoming new board of council representatives. Kilcullen for a change is not fragmented leading to a local candidate to have the golden oppurtunity of maximum votes. Can we step up to the mark and put forward a canididate?
If we don't what guarentees do we have to have equal opportunities as our neighbouring communities such as Newbridge and Naas.
My fear will be if Kilcullen becomes a satellite town/community will we run the risk of being at the bottom of the list when finance is handed out for repairs and maintenance of our area.
Will another community be handed the oppurtunity to develope ahead of Kilcullen?
If we become a more of a satellite town, will we run the risk of loosing the post office, bank, garda station?
If Eirgrid plan goes ahead Kilcullen will become the national spaghetti junction of pylons.
We have enough issues to deal with in the community that an independent canidate would be fine. We were strong at one stage in having a local Fine Gael cummna. We did have a active Progressive Democrate group.
The late Pat Dunlea ran a very strong campaign fighting for a northern link to the motorway for the community. He lost out due to the Kilcullen election area being fragmented. We have the manpower, so the opportunity is there.
Unfortunatly I am dealing with health issues at the moment that take my maximum attention, so I am unable to put myself forward.
I was reading an interesting artical in the Inependent online this morning about the country "Owning it's own oil", worth reading.
Kilcullen needs to "own it's own community". If we don't we will lose out!
